Hello! We are sitting in the airport waiting for the connecting flight to Houston. This morning, after a great breakfast, we leaders got a chance to share some of our thoughts about the week to the students. It was one of our most emotional times here. I think I can speak for each of the leaders when I say that we have been AMAZED by the students. Each of us, in tears, spoke of episode after episode of extraordinary hard work by each student. We shared the respect and graciousness that each student showed to us as leaders and to each other. We shared about the comments we received from the work staff at Perkin's that our team was the hardest working team they had all summer, and Grandpa Perkins himself telling us that we are beautiful people and how when we come back next year (he just talks prophetically like that) he would have their hardest jobs waiting for us because we can do anything with so much joy. I shared with students how thrilled I am that they have listened so attentively to what God is doing in their lives and for being open to experiences with the Holy Spirit like never before. Parents out there, you need to be proud of your child. They have not only represented you well, and displayed your great parenting, they have represented our church well and all of Kent, because we are known as the group from Kent. Unfortunately, I do not have the words to describe how I feel right now, a mixture of being so proud of this group, and that bittersweet feeling because the week is now complete and we will never have this moment again with the same configuration of kids and leaders. Thank you for your prayers and effort to make this week happen. I can honestly say your children are remarkable, and have conducted themselves beyond any hope and expectation. written by Sarah ButlerWills
