Woohoo! Student Ministries Update!!!

We are zooming along at a million miles an hour over here in KCC Student Ministries. We have had so much spiritual growth, so many memorable moments, and amazingly exciting events. And we’re not done yet. In this letter we want to share with you our calendar, update you on our student ministry foci of late (yeah, I just said foci), share a bit from the SMT, and invite you to lunch.

Lunch Invitation, Feb 24th 12:30-1:30
We want to invite anyone who’s up for it to join us for an informal lunch on Feb 24th after second service. If reading letters and blogs aren’t your style, you have some questions you’d like to ask, or you just like getting together with cool people then drop on by the Fireside Room on Sunday, Feb 24th. We’ll have Jeff, Ruby, a few Student Ministry Team members, homemade soup, and you join forces for a time of updates and conversation.

Cool Things We’re Seeing
So we have some incredible folks at Student Ministries and I’m not just talking about the adult volunteers, our student leaders and students who just step up and lead amaze me.  I see our kids living Gods word and taking active roles in throughout the church every week: We have high school students who plan and lead youth worship,  student volunteers assist the Middle School Primetime and PDR programs, Middle School students are practicing “telling their faith stories”, and a number of students regularly help out with the Preschool and Elementary kids.   And to top it all off we’re seeing some new faces!  The students are spreading the Word and it is good.

Student Ministry Team Invite
Our students are doing amazing things but we need our parent volunteers to make all of the programs work.  Ruby estimates that close to 40 volunteers helped to make BLIZZARD happen, many hands made light work for everyone.  Thanks to everyone who helped, but we can’t stop there!  When you see all of the activities planned for this spring and summer just think of how much fun they will be, you can get in on the fun by volunteering.  Don’t worry about embarrassing your kids, they will love you more for being involved.  All of our programs and activities can use people; whether you like to be out interacting with the kids or behind the scenes planning, organizing or prepping we can use your skills for events or weekly programs.  We also have spots on the Student Ministries Team if you like to help by looking at the big picture, we only meet once a month and it’s a great way to help Jeff and Ruby plan great things for our kids.   If you want to volunteer in any way just ask!
